Throughout the 2018-2019 school year, NEA-SN saw an increase in investigatory meetings and disciplinary actions that were exaggerated and exacerbated by administrative subjectivity. We have found that educators that know their contracts, their rights, and their professional responsibilities per the Clark County School District (CCSD) regulations and policies found themselves with disciplinary documents that rarely went above the level of written summary of conference. On the other end of the spectrum, educators who were not in the know of these various elements within their licensed position found themselves fighting for their voices to be heard.

As we find ourselves looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year, NEA-SN is also looking forward to helping as many educators as possible in expanding their teacher toolkit to include knowledge of the current negotiated contract, key laws and statutes that pertain to our licensed positions, as well as numerous CCSD regulations and policies.

Please join us for our Know Your Contract workshop that will help educators better understand what their rights are among their professional responsibilities. Space is limited, so please be sure to RSVP your spot by clicking on one of the event dates below. These workshops will be held as the Nevada State Education Association office.

Please note that these are learning workshopsIf you are looking to speak about your experiences from the 2018-2019 school year on a more personal level, please make an appointment with us to re-evaluate your evaluation to help you for the 2019-2020 school year.
